Permanent Makeup

The benefits of permanent makeup have gone mainstream, growing every year in popularity. So many of our medical skincare clients across all ages are interested in this service as part of their personal beauty plan.

Permanent eyeliner is a relatively simple procedure with big benefits. By adding pigment we are not necessarily “drawing on” eyeliner as much as adding 3x the lashes and complementing the natural shape and coloring of your eyes. You can still add makeup eyeliner if you would like a more dramatic look, however, you’ll find yourself grabbing for your eyeliner less and less as you enjoy the benefits of a ‘wash-and-wear’ face! Anyone who wants to cut down on their morning routine and have a youthful look will be thrilled with the results.

A typical eyeliner appointment is well under an hour and begins with some topical anesthetic as the micro-pigmentation begins around the lashes. Most patients find that after anesthetic it doesn’t feel like much more than a light scratching. Keep in mind that the color applied on the day of your appointment is slightly darker and will fade approximately 50% to its final pigment which can be adjusted as you desire.

Aftercare is very simple. Before you wash your face at night you will need to apply a little Vaseline to protect your eyes and splash with water. Pat dry and wipe off vaseline. For approximately 5-7 days during the healing process, it is recommended to not apply eyeshadow. For any aftercare questions please don’t hesitate to call us directly.

Permanent eyebrow makeup is extremely popular at Bedford Skincare Clinic for a number of reasons. First, there are few points that can add such definition, framing, and youthfulness to the face as the eyebrows do. Years of visible age can be subtracted with the right shape, color, and size of the eyebrow, and instead of tweezing or stenciling in your eyebrow, we’ll be happy to show you why thousands of patients have come to have permanent makeup done here instead.

Donna begins treatment by using a pencil to match the natural arches of the existing eyebrow to your eyes and face shape. Once you are happy with your shape, a topical anesthetic is applied and the procedure begins with minimal to no pain. Pigment is applied, and like eyeliner, it will fade 50%. Your final result is simple and very natural- well-shaped, expressive, and beautiful eyebrows!

As with our other permanent makeup treatments you’ll find that aftercare is truly simple. You’ll apply Vaseline (wiping in one direction) before you wash your face. Splash your face with warm water and do not scrub or pick at your eyebrows. Wipe off Vaseline when you’re finished! Stay out of the sun and use sunblock if you must. Eyebrows take the longest to fade and peel (about 6-7 days) to their final pigment. You’ll want to make an appointment for about three weeks out to check the final color and darken/touch up as you desire. Permanent eyebrows tend to last 1.5-2 years between touch-ups and are truly one of the best investments you can make in your personal appearance!

Permanent lip color is perfect for asymmetrically shaped lips, thick lips, or lips with uneven vermillion borders. It also eliminates the problem of “bleeding” into the fine lines of the mouth. Permanent lip color is virtually painless, cost-effective, and long-lasting. It is imperative for you to have a professional with knowledge and experience to perform this pigmentation procedure.

Permanent lip color benefits:

  • Always have beautiful natural-looking lips

  • No lipstick stains on cups and clothes

  • Eliminate worry about needing to touch-up lipstick

  • Add missing bow above your lips

  • Add shape to your mouth

  • Give your lips a fuller look if they appear too thin

  • Eliminate lipstick “bleeding” into fine lines around your mouth

  • Smooth vermillion edges by tattooing shape and defining borders

Permanent makeup (also known as micro-pigmentation) is cosmetic tattooing that resembles topical makeup by applying permanent inks and pigments to the dermis layer of your skin. When done properly, a permanent makeup procedure doesn’t stand out to others- instead, it is subtle and undetectable, enhancing natural beauty.

For many, permanent makeup is an easy solution that has them smiling for years. It gives them the consistently better-looking lips, eyebrows, and eyeliner they want every day with even more benefits including:

  • Being able to literally “wake up with makeup”

  • Saving time from needing to apply makeup multiple times a day

  • No smudge. No smear. No rub-off.

  • Having “peace of mind” in knowing how you look in the workplace or on the go

Permanent makeup is also viewed as a solution for both women and men in overcoming various medical conditions. Doctors frequently recommend this procedure for patients dealing with the effects of chemotherapy, restoring areolas after breast surgery, alopecia, scars, and white spots in the skin as in the case of vitiligo.
